Taken it Easy is a 2019 Seawind 1190 Sport, a high-performance cruising catamaran designed for sailors who value speed, comfort and versatility. Developed from the highly regarded Seawind 1160 and refined for enhanced performance, this three-cabin layout is equally suited to extended offshore cruising and relaxed coastal sailing.
Purpose-built for sailing enthusiasts, Taken it Easy features high-aspect retractable daggerboards and rudders, delivering excellent upwind performance while maintaining a shallow draft for access to remote anchorages. A taller rig and increased sail area provide impressive light-air capability, complemented by a double-spreader rig and high-aspect mainsail and jib for efficient power delivery and control. Strategic use of carbon fibre and advanced composite materials keeps displacement low, resulting in a responsive and rewarding sailing experience.
Sail handling is straightforward and efficient, with a self-tacking jib, twin helm stations, electric winches and an electric traveller. All control lines are led aft for ease of short-handed sailing. Two furling code sails add versatility and extra drive in lighter conditions, extending the boat’s performance range.
In 2024, Taken it Easy was upgraded with twin Yamaha 25hp outboards. These engines have been lightly used, meticulously maintained and provide reliable and economical motoring. Navigation and onboard systems are well specified with a comprehensive B&G electronics suite including a 12-inch Zeus³ chartplotter, AIS, 4G radar, VHF and a linear drive autopilot for confident coastal and offshore passages.
