The Jeanneau Yachts 51 by Jeanneau is a luxury performance cruiser, designed by Philippe Briand with interiors by Andrew Winch. She combines elegant European styling with genuine offshore capability and rewarding sailing performance. Jeanneau Yachts represents the yard's premium range, offering elevated design, finish and blue water capability.
Ocean Dream II (2019) is a beautifully maintained and intelligently specified example. Her powerful hull form, with distinctive hard chines carried aft and a substantial 4,750kg fin keel, delivers stability and pace, while twin wheels and a well-organised cockpit make her easily handled short-handed. Powered by a Yanmar 110hp shaft-drive diesel with folding propeller, she offers efficient passage-making and confident manoeuvrability, supported by a bow thruster and Raymarine autopilot system. A practical drop-down transom platform makes getting on and off the vessel easy, whether stepping aboard from the dock or tender, carrying provisions, or enjoying swimming directly from the platform.
Below deck, the Light ALPI Oak interior is refined, bright and exceptionally spacious. The three-cabin layout plus dedicated utility cabin provides excellent flexibility for owners and guests. The forward owner's suite features a centreline berth, generous storage and private ensuite. Large hull windows flood the saloon with natural light, complementing a fully equipped galley with ample refrigeration, gas cooking, microwave and onboard washer/dryer. Webasto heating ensures comfort across extended cruising seasons.
Her sail plan is both versatile and recently updated, including a new Doyle furling mainsail (2025), new Jeckells high-clew genoa (2022), self-tacking jib, Asymmetric Spi and Code Zero. Electric Harken primaries, quality deck hardware and teak-laid cockpit underline her high specification and blue-water intent. The current owners sailed her from Europe to Australia and specified her for the voyage, making Ocean Dream II a genuinely proven offshore yacht.
Ocean Dream II has been equipped with serious offshore cruising in mind. Jeanneau's robust construction and substantial keel ballast are complemented by upgraded charging systems, a large gel battery bank, high-output alternator, 1.175kW of solar, inverters and an Aqua-Base watermaker. Comprehensive Raymarine electronics include multifunction plotters at each helm and the navigation station, Doppler radar and autopilot, supported by a standalone Hydrovane self-steering system for redundancy at sea. A heavy-duty Rocna anchor with 100m of chain, tender on davits, and practical deck layout further reinforce her offshore readiness.
With 460 litres of fuel, 400 litres of water plus watermaker, efficient cruising performance and a recent professional survey inspection, she is exceptionally well prepared for extended Australian coastal cruising, Pacific Island passages or longer offshore ventures.
