BROKER’S COMMENTS
The Hallberg-Rassy 55 was produced between 2012 and 2017, with a total of nine hulls built. Based on the Hallberg-Rassy 54, the 55 introduced a range of significant enhancements. It features a completely redesigned deck with a more streamlined and uncluttered layout, including flush-mounted deck hatches and the removal of the entrance hatch garage. The aft shearline is lowered for a sleeker profile, and the transom is even more refined in both height and appearance.
Improvements continue below deck, where the 55 saloon benefits from enlarged portlights, increasing the window areas for better visibility and natural light. Additionally, four hull portlights have been added. The interior also sees notable upgrades, including a redesigned aft head modeled after the one found in the Hallberg-Rassy 64.
Hallberg-Rassy 55, UNCLE MOE is a true ‘push button sailing’ yacht. The yacht is equipped with a white painted hydraulic operated furling mast and boom and two furling head sails. The 180hp engine together with powerful bow and stern thrusters with docking function makes maneuvering in tight spaces safe and easy.
The centre cockpit has a hardtop which offers great protection from sun, rain and breaking waves.
Inside there are 3 cabins with double berths. The saloon has two sofas, and the owners aft cabin with en suite bathroom has a centered berth. The navigation table is located directly to starboard of the entrance and the longitude galley to port.
UNCLE MOE is a well-maintained yacht in good overall condition, recently returned to Orust from a trip to Lofoten. She’s fully ready to sail anywhere.

OWNER’S COMMENTS
Only eight Hallberg-Rassy 55s were ever built, making this model exceptionally rare. Among all Hallberg-Rassy designs, the 55 stands out with arguably the most graceful and elegant lines. UNCLE MOE is hull #6.
For the past six years, UNCLE MOE has been more than just a boat — she’s been a trusted companion. We cruised the Mediterranean extensively during the pandemic and, in 2022, crossed into the Atlantic, sailing from Barcelona all the way to Tromsø.
One of my most memorable passages was a 10-day solo sail from the Azores to Dingle, Ireland — the longest solo journey I’ve ever undertaken. Until then, I’d never sailed alone for more than 48 hours. Once we got out there, UNCLE MOE was like a rocket ship — and moved just as fast, sometimes cruising at 9.5 knots. Being solo in the middle of the Atlantic was as close to space travel as you can get — vast, quiet, and deeply humbling. Despite the isolation, I always felt safe and secure. With dual autopilots, a dependable watermaker, and generous fuel and water capacity, UNCLE MOE gave me both peace of mind and a sense of home.
Few boats can match her combination of safety, technological sophistication, and luxurious interior comfort. She’s built for serious sailing, but also for serious living. During my ownership, I made a number of thoughtful upgrades both technical and design wise — including reupholstering parts of the interior with beautiful Missoni textiles and adding other superyacht-style touches. I’d be happy to walk any prospective owner through these enhancements.
After 12 continuous years of cruising, I’ve decided to pause my sailing life to focus on business and other responsibilities. Saying goodbye to UNCLE MOE is not easy, but I know she’ll bring her next owner the same joy, adventure, and confidence she’s given me.
There’s nothing quite like owning a Hallberg-Rassy. You won’t regret it.
