The Dufour 560 Grand Large was designed by the Italian yacht designer, Umberto Felci, as a modern cruiser with a balanced hull and high ballast ration for stability. Her rig was designed for ease of handling, with an in-mast furling main, self-tacking jib, and fixed bowsprit. Sail Magazine described the 560 as "the biggest in the line but it’s no harder to sail than a 30-footer." These high-performing cruising yachts focus on combining luxury with ease of sailing making for a perfect cruising yacht. This 560 boasts a shallow 6.5' draft, not found on most 560's and highly desirable for its ability to anchor where the vast majority of boats this size cannot.
