Description

"Grace" is an exceptional example of the Alerion 28—possibly the cleanest and best-kept one you’ll find. Built in 2015 and cared for by a meticulous owner, she has benefited from consistent, top-tier service at Front Street Shipyard. Her condition is outstanding throughout, with flawless finishes, clean systems, and the kind of overall presentation that makes a lasting impression. She’s as close to new as a pre-owned boat can get.

The Alerion 28 blends classic elegance with modern simplicity. Designed for sailors who appreciate beauty and performance, she features a self-tacking jib with carbon Hoyt boom for effortless handling, even when sailing solo. Comfortable enough for overnighting and quick enough for club racing, the Alerion 28 is a true all-arounder—and one of the most admired designs on the water.

Interior Accomodations

The interior of Grace is clean, simple, and thoughtfully laid out—perfect for weekend cruising or a quiet afternoon on the hook. Finished in high-quality varnished woodwork with white paneling, the space feels bright and welcoming. There are comfortable settees to port and starboard with storage beneath, and a compact galley area equipped with a sink and space for a portable stove. Forward is a V-berth for overnighting, along with a marine head tucked discreetly beneath.

Every detail below reflects the same level of care seen topside—immaculate, uncluttered, and ready to use. Whether you’re taking shelter from an afternoon squall or spending the night aboard, Grace’s interior is functional, tasteful, and exceptionally well maintained.

Exterior

Grace turns heads with her stunning Flag Blue hull, sweeping sheerline, and classic proportions. Her profile is timeless, and her condition speaks volumes—gelcoat shines, hardware gleams, and all exterior surfaces are exceptionally well kept. The varnished teak tiller adds a warm, traditional touch and is in beautiful shape, offering precise and responsive helm control.

Sail handling is effortless thanks to the carbon Hoyt self-tacking jib boom and thoughtfully organized deck layout. All lines lead aft, making singlehanded sailing a breeze. Wide side decks, a spacious cockpit, and high-end deck fittings round out a package that’s as practical as it is elegant. Whether under sail or at the mooring, Grace is a standout in any harbor.

Sails

Grace is equipped with a well-maintained sail inventory suited for both relaxed daysailing and occasional racing. Her North Sails Dacron main and self-tacking jib were new in 2015 and remain in very good condition, with crisp shape and plenty of life left. The sail plan is optimized for easy handling, particularly with the jib mounted on a carbon Hoyt boom for effortless tacking.

For downwind sailing, Grace also includes a 2024 symmetrical spinnaker built by Bohndell Sails in Rockport, Maine.
