Accommodations and walkthrough

The Hunter 44DS feature spacious accommodations generally seen only in much larger vessels. The raised house and large window give the yacht a bright open and airy feeling.

The main salon has a large settee to port that can easily seat six and a convertible dinette table that provides an oversized double berth. Opposite to starboard is an oversized double settee and the navigation station is adjacent just aft. 

Aft to port just opposite the nav. station is the seagoing galley facing forward yet very convenient to the companionway where serving a hungry crew in the cockpit is close at hand. The galley features a large stainless steel refrigerator and a separate large stainless steel freezer. There is abundant storage in a large pantry and a unique ventilated dish drying cabinet. Cooking is done on a three burner LPG stove with an oven and broiler as well as a microwave convection oven.

The master stateroom is aft and it features a queen centerline berth with innerspring mattress and a bedding package. There is a settee and bookshelf / library to port and an illuminated mirrored vanity with Corian countertop is just forward. Opposite to starboard is a storage cabinet with additional storage compartments and a large cedar lined hanging locker to provide exceptional storage space for the long-range cruiser. Ventilation and natural lighting is provided by 3 ports and 1 hatch. A convenient custom shelf has been added on the starboard side which increases useful storage in the master stateroom. The master stateroom has direct access into a large head with a separate stall shower.

Forward is the spacious private forward guest cabin with a large V-berth, large hanging locker, lockers outboard, and just aft a large en-suite head compartment with a mirrored and lighted vanity and a separate stall shower.  

The engine is below the companionway steps which makes maintenance of the engine a breeze. The aft lazarettes are spacious and deep. This is truly a cruising yacht with storage everywhere in a wonderful two cabin two head layout.

Main Salon

Beautifully finished joinery in satin finished teak furnished with deluxe off white cushions and a custom fabric package provides ultimate beauty in interior treatments while functionality of ship board equipment is skillfully blended into the close at hand convenience of the integrated navigation station. Tastefully furnished and accented with pillows and other décor, this expansive salon is bright, airy, and exceptionally roomy.

Galley

The expansive “L” shaped galley is appropriately situated for the chef to be able to provide food service quickly, conveniently and safely to either crew on deck or relaxing guests below.

In addition to the Corian countertops there is a large pantry with 3 pull out drawers below, an in-counter waste bin, separate under counter front opening refrigerator and freezer units, three generous storage lockers, built-in 3 shelf spice rack, and additional storage under the sole.

Additionally, there is generous ventilation and lighting provided by overhead fluorescent, lighted self-draining dish storage cabinet, deck hatch, opening port, as well as a double stainless steel sink with cutting board.

Electronics and Instruments

The yacht is equipped with Raymarine Axiom Series Displays at the helm and the navigation station. These multi function displays provide GPS Charts, Radar, AIS Transceiver, autopilot and data from the other instruments.These are coupled with New Raymarine Autopilot and Sailing Instruments. There are VHF radios at the helm and at the nav station. The breaker panel at the nav. station features a Link system for battery monitoring, a tank level monitor and an inverter control panel.
