Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean” (or Cat B – whichever is appropriate)

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• GRP hull, deck and superstructure.
• The hull is partially laminated in is polyester, partially in DCPD-Ortho polyester. 
• A sandwich laminate made of 20mm PVC core is used all through the hull.
• Multi-axial stitched roving & chopped strand mat is used as reinforcement with uni-directional glass in high load areas. 
• The deck is laid up by a combination of hand lay-up and spray lay-up in a female mould with integrated anti-slip surfaces.
• The deck is glued to the hull using polyester putty, and subsequently bolted using M8 bolts c-c 200mm
• Deck, cockpit and stern platform are teak-laid.
• Striping with blue and red vinyl tape. 
• Topsides painted with Awlgrp in Flag Blue. 

Keel & Rudder:

• 2m draft lead/antimony (2,5%) casting with incorporated bulb. 
• Thin keel fin and a low centre of gravity. 
• Keel is bolted with M20 AISI 316L stainless steel bolts. 

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• 1 x Volvo MD 2080 28hp with MS255 sail drive.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

• Engine service – Jan 2024 and every year previously.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

• 3-bladed folding propeller.

Voltage Systems:

• 240V. 

 

Battery Banks:

• 3 x 85aH domestic batteries with isolator.
• 1 x 85aH engine start battery with isolator.

 

Battery Chargers:

• Batteries charged by 60A engine alternator.
