Accommodations

The interior of the Hallberg-Rassy 36 is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, featuring book-matched mahogany finished with a smooth silk two-part varnish. A solid mahogany mast compression post is integrated into the main bulkhead, effectively preventing water from leaking into the interior via the mast. The flooring is a classic teak and holly sole with a matte varnished finish, contributing to the yacht's timeless aesthetic. With 6'4" headroom in the saloon, the space feels open and comfortable. Notably, all areas of the boat, including the bilges, are finished for storage, maximizing practicality and utility.

Storage is abundant and well-thought-out, with easily accessible compartments under the berths and settees, ideal for stowing large items like sail bags. Larger cupboard doors are louvered to enhance ventilation throughout the interior. Additional storage is available behind the backrests of settees and berths, while the hull's interior is lined with mahogany battens to promote airflow and prevent moisture buildup. The hull's divinyl cell layup provides excellent insulation against heat and cold, ensuring comfort in a variety of climates.

The head compartment is equipped with a china wash basin, a shower with a teak grating, an overboard electric sump pump, an opening hatch, a port, and a ventilator. Opposite the head compartment in the companionway is a hanging locker, adding to the yacht's thoughtfully designed storage options.

The forward "V" cabin is bright and spacious, offering 6'6" berths with an inset for additional flexibility. The aft cabin is equally well-appointed, featuring a large opening hatch and ports, a wide double berth to starboard, and a comfortable sea berth to port. Hanging lockers are located in both the aft cabin and the walk-through to the saloon, providing ample room for clothing and gear.

Convenience and functionality are key in the design of the nav station, engine room, and instrument panels, which are strategically grouped to form a natural and efficient operational unit. Galley

The Hallberg-Rassy 36 features a well-designed starboard galley ideal for safe and efficient cooking at sea. It includes a stove, a refrigerated icebox, a polished stainless-steel sink, and ample storage for utensils and provisions. Convenient features like hot and cold pressure water, a foot-pedal-operated freshwater faucet, and built-in cutlery drawers and a cutting board enhance functionality. Positioned near the companionway for easy serving, the galley provides a natural back brace for safety while underway. This practical and spacious setup ensures comfort and efficiency during extended cruising.

Hull, Deck and Safety

The hull is produced by the Hallberg-Rassy owned MarinPlast factory in Kungshamn, Sweden. Special attention is given to the hull to deck joint being heavily glassed over making a unitized hull. All mechanicals, electrical equipment, tanks, and furnishings are carried down the companionway when being installed rather than installed prior to the fiberglass deck lid being bonded solid to the hull with fiberglass. This assures accessibility for any future needed replacements in her lifetime. The hull is hand laid in reinforced solid fiberglass with isopthalic resins below the waterline transitioning above the waterline to a sandwich isophtalic fibreglass construction layup insulated with resin impregnated divinylcell coring to protect against heat and cold. Hull is lined with scantlings and finished with mahogany battens thereby providing full flow-thru ventilation to keep the boat fresh, dry, and mildew free. The result is a high-quality hull with beautiful lines and finish that is insulated against heat and cold. 

 

Deck- The cleanly designed decks are overlaid with the highest quality Burmese teak for maximum footing under any sea condition.
