Description
CATANA 472 - “FOLAVOALH”
(version CALIGO)
345,000 TTC (Papeetisé)
“Folavoalh” is papeetisé, ready for sailing, for sale due to health reasons!!!
The Catana 472 version CALIGO - 2001 Owner version, purchased by its current owner from CATANA in 2012 following a refit as part of the NEO program carried out at Port Pin Rolland.
This boat has crossed the Atlantic and then the Pacific and has been sailing in French Polynesia since, equipped for world cruising.
The Catana 472 was designed by Christophe Barreau for performance offshore, distinguished by several key features.
- Construction and Materials: The boat is built in sandwich with a foam core and aramid fiber (Kevlar) for strength, while keeping a low weight. The mast, boom, and bowsprit are made of carbon fiber to reduce weight aloft.
- Performance: Known as a fast sailing vessel, it is capable of maintaining high averages over long distances, with owners reporting peak speeds exceeding 18 knots. The design includes daggerboards to enhance upwind performance.
- Handling: The deck layout is optimized for easy maneuvers, including with a reduced crew. All sheets and control lines are led back to the cockpit, often equipped with electric winches.
The interior has been designed to combine comfort in cruising and lightness.
- Owner Version: with three cabins, including a full hull dedicated to the master suite (large cabin, spacious bathroom, storage).
- Salon: A bright and airy salon with a "U" shaped galley and a large dining table, offering good visibility and ventilation.
- Comfort: The layouts often include high-end cruising equipment such as watermakers, generators, and air conditioning, without excessively compromising the overall performance of the boat.
The Catana 472 Caligo model is a refined version of the 471, focusing on adding comfort and luxury equipment without sacrificing the sailing capabilities that have made the brand's reputation.
