Description
The IMOCA 60 “Kingfisher” is a high-performance offshore racing yacht designed by Owen Clarke Design and built by the renowned Marten Yachts shipyard in New Zealand. Originally launched in 2000, this Spanish-flagged ocean racing yacht has an impressive offshore pedigree, including multiple round-the-world participations. Currently located in Barcelona, Spain, she represents a proven IMOCA platform ready for competitive sailing or ambitious offshore projects.
Following the Vendée Globe 2020–2021 campaign, the yacht underwent a significant refit focused on performance, reliability, and weight reduction. Major upgrades included the installation of a new Lombardini engine (2020), ballast system improvements, cockpit optimizations, servicing of the keel and hydraulic systems, and the removal of the original daggerboards. The hull was completely sanded and repainted, resulting in a weight reduction of approximately 800 kg. The onboard electronics were also upgraded to a modern B&G H5000 Hercules system, making this IMOCA 60 a competitive and well-prepared offshore racing yacht.
