Construction
Cantiere del Pardo keeps the hull in the mold for 10 days while assembling the iron structure, adjusting the keel and rudder, installing the engine, electricity, and plumbing, fitting the interiors, and laminating the deck. This system eliminates any type of subsequent torsion in the overall structure.
The hull is made up of 12 layers of unidirectional fabric with vinylester resin and isophthalic gelcoat. The iron structure consists of a central beam where the mast, keel, and engine are mounted. With 5 transverse reinforcements, where the bulkheads are located. A stainless steel chain connects the standing rigging to this structure. The deck is laminated to the hull with epoxy resin. All deck fittings are bolted to stainless steel plates previously laminated in the deck.
In this way, a solid, robust, and compact structure is achieved, which defines the characteristics in navigation and the durability of this vessel.
