Simonis Voogd 60

This well known South African Simonis Voogd 60-footer is now for sale in South Africa. Campaigned professionally since launch with original owner now moving on. The yacht is well maintained with a substantial sail inventory. She could be converted below decks to accommodate the more cruisy type of owner but as is she is fully capable of Ocean Crossings and has done a handful of Cape to Rio Races.

WORK BEING CARRIED OUT JULY 2025

Engine: 

Fuel Pump and Water Pump have been replaced

Shaft kit for the impeller has been installed and a new thermostat installed.

Original Exhaust Elbow has been replaced.

A new gear housing (lower), saildrive leg has been installed

The gearbox has been serviced and a new clutch kit installed.

New bellows also installed

Cooling system serviced and heat exchanger cleaned, serviced and tested.

Engine was flushed and all new coolants and engine oil applied.

All batteries are in good condition and holding a charge.

Rudder:

Rudder removed and checked for any cracking or damages, none found.

Rudder bearings removed cleaned and serviced all in good condition.

Rudder bearing housing was anodized to prevent corrosion.

Hull:

Topsides starboard side had some cosmetic damage which has been repaired and painted

Underside is excellent condition and is been prepped for antifoul.

Keel in great shape no pressure cracks.

Rudder has no play.

All seacocks have been stripped and cleaned all functioning perfectly.

The hull will be inspected by a Safety Officer from SA Sailing before refloating.

Deck:

The deck needs some touch ups which will be attended to once the boat is on moorings.

All fittings are to be stripped, cleaned and repaired.

Winches will be stripped and cleaned

Electrics:

All electrics and electronic instruments are in good condition but will be checked by a qualified technician.

Mast:

Mast and boom were unstepped two years ago and all repairs and paint job were undertaken by Sparcraft Masts.

A Stack Pack was also installed.

The rig will undergo a visual inspection by Associated Rigging.

Miscellaneous: 

All safety equipment is clean and up to date.

Life Rafts and life jackets have been serviced as per schedule.

The stainless steel fresh water tanks and diesel tank were removed cleaned and repaired and are ready to be installed.
