The Kicker, a really fun schouw with a bilge keel. Its wide hull makes it wonderfully stable and perfect for drying out!

In designing this ship, a schouw was taken as the basis. The bottom is slightly V-shaped, but the sides are more rounded. This benefits the stiffness of the hull. The bow and stern are pointed, allowing the ship to gain length. It is a single-masted, cutter rigged vessel, with two headsails and a top mainsail. Due to its width, it is a very stable ship; once it has heeled, it does not heel further. Thanks to the bilge keels, it is a perfect Wadden ship; when it dries out, the ship stands on its keel and with the wide bilge keels, it remains standing like a house. The interior is robust and solid, partially self-built. Last year, a leeward bite was added to limit drift, and that has worked out very well. This also makes the ship easier to maneuver.
