The Van de Stadt 34 from 1989, nicknamed Dikke Jan, is a steel sailing yacht measuring 10.30 m in length and 3.30 m in width, with a draft of 1.45 m and a clearance height of approximately 13.5 m. The ship is built with a solid steel construction and features a classic cabin layout with five fixed sleeping places, complemented by a boiler, pressurized water system, and a complete navigation package including VHF, GPS, depth sounder, and compass.

The propulsion is provided by a Mitsubishi K4D diesel engine from 2004 with a power of 46 hp (34 kW), which has approximately 900 running hours. The ship is equipped with a sprayhood, anchor winch, cockpit table, gas stove with oven, refrigerator, and all necessities for comfortable sailing.

In terms of rigging, this Van de Stadt 34 is equipped with a mast with steel wire stays and has a mainsail and genoa, with the sheets operated from the cockpit. Navigation and electronic equipment are available, alongside systems such as VHF, GPS, and depth sounder.

The underwater hull is made of steel for durability and robustness, with a fixed keel construction and a single rudder for reliable handling. The technical features make this yacht highly suitable for both recreational and serious sailing trips.

The ship was taken out of the water in June 2025 for an underwater inspection. The thickness was measured and repaired at a thin spot near the toilet. For the rest of the ship, it is at thickness. Report is available for inspection.
