Description
Built in the UK in 1987, the boat is designed for family cruising, longer holidays and long-term live aboard. Two separate sleeping cabins so suitable boat for two couples cruising together. Fin keel, modern design and good turn of speed, these boats have been cruised extensively.
With its centre cockpit and furling in-mast main sail she has been set up with safety in mind for single-handed sailing – all lines come into the cockpit.
The interior has 7/8 berths and plenty of seating. The galley is to port and the chart table is to starboard at the bottom of the ladder. There are two toilet compartments on the Moody 37, the aft en-suite and the forward semi en-suite, both fitted with new Jabasco toilets (2022)
The Eberspacher heater unit was new in 2016. This Moody 37 has a good range of electronics for long distance sailing, including AIS receiver and transmitter, Furuno plotter and E 80 autopilot. There came a new spray hood and full cockpit tent in 2016.
She is a spacious yacht, well fitted out with lots of woodwork on display down below. Storage has been extended with an additional cupboard and storage in the aft cabin and lockers fitted behind the cushions in the main cabin. The door to the aft cabin has been enlarged to make access easier. In the forrard cabin under seating lockers have created to separate where the bow-thruster and its separate batteries are stowed. Most of the deckhead has also had new vinyl.
Externally the exterior gel coat is in good condition with the original deck finish in non-slip. Following an extensive survey in 2015, she was refitted with new keel bolts and a bow-thruster. At the same time new wiring together with LEDs was installed together with extensive electronic equipment. (The original radar has been removed but is available if required) New batteries and charger were installed in 2016.
Comment - - - For those who require comfortable cruising and possible long-term sailing at a very good entry level price, this boat is ready to take you to sea. Also suitable for a large family or friends sharing. Practical and well designed with good headroom and easy to walk around decks.
She is ready to sail, well equipped and in excellent condition. She has been well looked after and, during each winter since 2015, has been placed ashore in a secure covered shed (and probably could continue to be available if required).
