Description

Solid, safe, and well-maintained cruising sailboat, prepared and equipped for offshore sailing. Ocean design category (without CE marking). Registered in Poland. Ready to sail.

Built in the late 1970s by the now-defunct shipyard Taylor Española, under Dufour license, with design by the prestigious naval architect Michel Dufour. A highly sought-after classic in the second-hand market for its exceptional construction quality: thick hull, molded, without osmosis, and high displacement.

It is a particularly habitable sailboat for its length, ideal for tall people, with 1.90 m of height in the cabin. Large, well-protected cockpit, forward superstructure (typical of the era), and a spacious bow area perfect as a sunbathing spot.

Inside, it offers 6 sleeping places between the salon, forward cabin, and storage under the cockpit. The layout of the bathroom, a necessary passage to the forward cabin, is characteristic of classic designs.

Engine and mechanics
Volvo Penta MD11C, 2 cylinders, 23 HP, shaft, year 1979
Cooling by heat exchanger (replaced the original seawater-cooled engine in August 2020)
Engine compartment with acoustic and fireproof insulation
Bilge painted with Damboline
Dry stuffing box Solé type Volvo
Nautric through-hull fittings
SilicOne antifouling (changed every 2–3 years)

Safety and stability (the boat's strong point)
Data more typical of larger lengths:

Design category: Ocean
AVS (Positive Stability Angle): 137.6º
Motion Comfort Ratio: 25.76
Capsize Ratio: 1.97
The AVS far exceeds the 130º required for class A in this length, making the Dufour 31 an exceptionally stable and safe sailboat.
The Motion Comfort reflects its good behavior in rough seas, and the Capsize Ratio indicates high resistance to capsizing.
