The IW 31 is built for victory. The tougher the ocean racing, the better. However, the interior design and equipment also make it a pleasant and practical family boat with five berths, a separate navigation table, a well-equipped galley, large storage spaces, and a reliable diesel engine.

 

The IW 31 offers plenty of space for family sailing while being easy to maneuver for racing with a small crew (usually four people).

 

Thanks to its special hull design, the IW 31 is perfect It is well balanced and allows for the use of the spinnaker in strong winds, which contributes to its success in all regattas. At the same time, it also performs very well in crosswinds.

 

For the combination of family sailing and racing, the IW 31 is equipped with a 10 hp diesel engine (Volvo MDI). Steering is via a two-lever control in the cockpit. A folding propeller is available as an option. The propeller and rudder are positioned so that the boat maneuvers quickly, even when reversing.

 

The interior is made entirely of teak. The IW 31 offers space for five people. There is a separate navigation area with an adjustable table. A galley with cabinets and drawers, a toilet with a sink, and a foot pump in the galley and toilet compartment.

The hull, deck, and rudder are made of glass-fiber-reinforced polyester plastic. The deck construction is a sandwich construction.

The mast passes through the cabin roof and is attached directly to the floor of the fiberglass hull above the keel. The mast and boom are made of aluminum, and the winches and fittings are of the highest quality."

New Mast and Rigging:

• The rod rigging, halyards, and lines are all new and are led back to the cockpit.
