Description
This beautiful 45‘ sloop "Carillion of Wight" was born from the iconic design philosophy of Sparkman & Stephens and she is a symbol of elegance on the water.
Carillion has been owned by the same family for nearly 40 years. During the period between 2012 and 2013 around 10,000 man hours were devoted to bring Carillion to her current condition, resulting in her winning the Conde de Barcelona regatta in 2015. Carillion was adapted for a short-handed sailing and ease of handling for less-experienced crew. She's a great boat for sailors and are performing well in light breeze. With her new carbon mast, deeper rudder and white coloured carbon sails, she has become a competitive force in IRC and classic regattas.
No expense has been spared in renovating her to this incredible „better then new“ condition. Total investment of nearly 400.000€ has been spent in Carillion and she is now available on the market for a very attractive price.

About this boat
Here are some of the latest improvements done on S/Y Carillion:
-Replacement and repair of delaminated frames
-Hull re-planked as necessary
-Diamond mahogany plugs (200) where fixings found to be in softened timber
-Fairing of the hull, fiberglass scrim, 6 coats of Awlgrip gloss spray
-Complete cockpit rebuild, scrim fair and spray two pot epoxy on painted surfaces
-Rebuild of transom
-Reinforced chain plates
-Re-planking and re-caulking of the deck
-Replacing all seacocks
-Replacing or restoring fittings
-Replacing all hatches with flush fitting
-Extension of the rudder allowing her to carry more sail downwind
-6 coats of copper Antifoul
-Boat was totally re-wired and a new switchgear for electrics was installed
-New White Selden mast and boom, Dyform standing rigging and new mast collar. Fractional enlarged rigg. 2 meters added to the mast length
