Description
OUTLAW is an exceptional classic yacht built by the renowned Souters of Cowes shipyard in 1963, based on a design by the legendary naval architects Illingworth & Primrose. This iconic Marconi cutter made an immediate mark on British yachting history with both its innovative construction and illustrious racing pedigree. Owned and helmed by Sir Max Aitken M.P., OUTLAW led the British team to victory in the prestigious Admiral’s Cup in 1963, securing her reputation as a world-class racing yacht.
This 14.86-metre classic sailing yacht is a true product of the golden age of yachting. Built with a cold-moulded mahogany hull and mahogany-and-teak deck, she boasts timeless elegance combined with a lightweight and rigid structure, considered a technological breakthrough at the time. Her design and performance have been praised in numerous nautical books and magazines.
Additional Information
OUTLAW has enjoyed a life full of adventure, including two Atlantic crossings and stewardship by five passionate owners. In 1983, she was rediscovered in an abandoned state and underwent a full 18-month restoration. Since then, she has found her home in the Mediterranean, where she continues to turn heads and compete in classic yacht regattas.
Her warm and inviting interior accommodates up to 8 guests. The layout includes a comfortable owner’s cabin, a spacious saloon with settees and sea berths, a fully equipped galley, and generous storage throughout. Modern navigation electronics complement the yacht’s vintage charm, making OUTLAW ready to sail or shine at any classic yacht event.
