Description
JALINA is a magnificent racing and cruising yacht with unusual and powerful lines, light and robust. She was designed by Eugène Cornu and built in the Jouet shipyards for Jacques Barbou. The favourable synergy between designer, yard and owner, all at the highest level of French yachting, created this refined masterpiece in 1946.
JALINA was completely restored by brothers Marco and Stefano Bonacina in 2010 and since then has received detailed and careful maintenance every winter at the Cantieri Navali di Spezia.
CIM tonnage of 2017 APM 209.8
ORC Tonnage of 2017 GPH 668.7.
The ORC International tonnage was made to participate to the Giraglia race, carried out in 2017 with water line scanners ashore and every measurement including heeling.
Jalina has not been used since 2021 and now needs some maintenance before sailing and racing again, but the owner's request is really small. Write or call for information.

‘Un magnifique animal de course’, this is how the French magazine Le Yacht described JALINA, created from the pencil of the accomplished French designer Eugène Cornu, in 1953. At the time, the boat had already proved her worth, winning the Cowes-Dinard and Cannes-Portoferraio in 1947.
In 1953 she won the Giraglia, repeated in the following two years in her own class. Other victories included the Porto Azzurro-Anzio in 1955 and the Ajaccio-Monaco in 1957.
In 2007 she was discovered half-abandoned in Portoferraio by the actual owner, who fell in love and bought her.
The restoration, which was completed in 2010 on the island of Elba, was carried out by brothers Stefano and Marco Bonacina, skilful shipwrights who had already carried out major restorations, including that of Vistona in 1937.
JALINA is built in mahogany planking on oak frames and has a Douglas fir mast.
In 2010 the mast, mainsail boom and foresail were rebuilt in wood identical to the originals.
