1938 Reimers Squall classic sailboat
Do you dream of sailing on a legendary sailboat? The 1938 Reimers Squall, a true gem of nautical heritage, is now available for sale at Vip Marine. This classic yacht, with its sleek silhouette and timeless lines, embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of the 20th century. Built in 1938 by the Reimers shipyard, this collector's boat is much more than a sailboat: it is a floating work of art, a piece of living history.
An iconic design by Reimers
Designed by the illustrious Swedish naval architect Gustaf A. Reimers, the Squall is one of the last representatives of the golden age of sailing. Its elegant wooden hull, taut and balanced lines, refined stern, and classic rigging make it a rare piece, highly sought after by vintage yacht enthusiasts and lovers of classic sailboats.
At 7.65 meters, the Squall offers both performance and refinement. Built from noble wood using traditional methods, it embodies the best of Scandinavian naval craftsmanship. Carefully restored in accordance with its original plans by the Scotto shipyard, it combines authenticity and comfort.
The wooden mast and spars have been renovated, as well as the standing and running rigging, ensuring smooth and safe navigation. The interior has been tastefully arranged, blending varnished wood, fine leathers, and traditional marine equipment, offering 3 sleeping spaces in a warm and authentic atmosphere. The current owner regularly races the boat in AFYT regattas and it is measured by the International Mediterranean Committee; the running rigging is very recent, part of the standing rigging is new, and the winch has undergone a thorough renovation.
Performance and elegance at sea
Despite its age, the 1938 Reimers Squall remains a lively and enjoyable sailboat to maneuver. Ideal for classic regattas, coastal cruises, or vintage yacht gatherings, it attracts all eyes in ports and while sailing. It has also participated in several prestigious events in the classic yacht circuit in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
Its balanced sail plan, fluid hull, and healthy behavior under sail make it a boat that is both enjoyable for connoisseurs and accessible to sailors wishing to discover the world of traditional sailboats.
A heritage investment
Acquiring the Squall is investing in a unique collector's boat, whose historical and aesthetic value continues to grow. It is also joining a passionate community of classic yacht owners, present at prestigious gatherings.
