This boat is the very first 39-foot model from the Walkabout shipyard and has several features that make it an excellent boat for facing any sea and weather conditions:
The hull and deck are entirely constructed in sandwich with a PVC core (80 kg/mc) and the skins are made of multi-axial glass fabrics impregnated with epoxy resin.
The structure of the reinforcements incorporates the keel seat and the base of the strut that transmits the forces from the mast.
The floor is made of sandwich and is glued to the reinforcement structure and welded to the hull to create a series of watertight compartments on the bottom of the hull from the bow to the keel. These watertight compartments significantly increase safety and in the event of a destructive impact with hull breach, they prevent water from entering the hull.
The deck is entirely constructed in sandwich with a PVC core just like the hull and is glued to the hull (which has a wide flange) with structural epoxy adhesive and then externally welded with lamination using glass and epoxy resin to create a monolithic joint.
The keel has a "T" profile with a solid steel blade, the bulb in lead, all enclosed in a glass and epoxy mold that creates a monolithic object in which the metals are completely isolated from the sea.
The strengths of the boat:
The deck is cast/welded to the hull. No fittings.
3 watertight sections (Bow, under the mast, stern)
The mast is connected to the keel (greater righting effect)
Double floor. The first starting from the keel is completely watertight.
The mast is made of carbon while the shipyard's is made of aluminum
