The Heritage 26, whose first units were launched in 1998, is part of the Motoryacht range, a more affordable range than those that included the 955, 1055, or 1155. This 26-foot cruiser is the little sister of the Elite 31, which it closely resembles with its elongated and tulip-shaped bow and the same inverted transom. Inside, after pushing the sliding glass door, one discovers a very bright saloon thanks to the large windows of the roof and the mahogany woodwork, with a headroom of 1.95 m. On the port side, there is a kitchen unit with two burners, a sink, and a worktop. The whole is concealed under a lift-up panel.
A livable interior
There are also many storage spaces, and even a china cabinet. On the starboard side, the table and the two benches convert into a double berth. As for the helm station, it is located just in front of the bench that also serves as a backrest for the pilot. Two steps down, towards the front, is the location of the bathroom, with a sink, shower, and toilet. Isolated by a simple curtain, the forward cabin is spacious. It features plenty of storage, a bench with a wardrobe on the port side, and a double berth with generous proportions (2.05 x 1.80 m). Outside, a teak deck runs from the windlass to the rear platform where a removable stainless steel ladder is attached.
Improved stability
Removable benches (which also serve as storage) can also be installed in the cockpit. The canopy provides good protection for the cockpit passengers. It comes standard with built-in lighting and optionally with a rod holder and a bimini for fishermen. A large locker under the floor can accommodate bulky equipment. Access to the foredeck is via narrow walkways well protected by high stainless steel railings. In terms of performance, the Heritage 26 reaches 21 knots at maximum speed and a cruising speed ranging from 15 to 18 knots. At sea, its stability is enhanced by a pronounced chine and a lateral step that extends to the bow to reinforce deflection. The bow of the Heritage 26 cuts through the waves well thanks to its pinched hull, and the hull rises gradually without ever crossing the threshold of planing. A hatch allows for easy checking of the oil level. To actually access the engine, one must lift the dinette block, mounted on struts. The boat is equipped with a bow thruster, an essential option for those who practice cruising. The Heritage 26 is a docile and pleasant boat to handle that will perfectly meet the expectations of boaters who wish to enjoy coastal cruising in a comfortable 8-meter unit.
