Description
This 1998 Sea Ray 290 Sundancer is a head-turning cruiser, packed with premium upgrades. From new counter-rotating Alpha Gen II legs to complete interior and electrical modernizations, she’s turnkey, powerful, and perfect for serious boating adventures or laid-back weekend escapes.
This 1998 Sea Ray 290 Sundancer stands out as one of the cleanest and best-maintained examples on the market. A marine survey completed in March citing it as the nicest and cleanest Sundancer the surveyor had seen. The boat has been meticulously upgraded from bow to stern, combining performance, comfort, and cosmetic excellence.
Mechanically, both MerCruiser 4.3L V6 engines have been enhanced with Performer 4-barrel carburetors, Performer intake manifolds, flame thrower ignition coils, upgraded ignition triggers, 9mm spark plug wires, new starter motors, and cylinder heads. The exhaust system is fully refreshed with new exhaust risers, flushed manifolds, and free-flow bellows. New Alpha One Gen II drives were installed with counter-rotating port leg and less than 150 hours of use. They’re paired with high-performance Venice stainless steel props, gimbal bearings, bellows, shift cables, trim limiter modules, and hydrofoils for smooth, responsive control.
The hull has been stripped and professionally refinished with three coats of barrier coat and a fiberglass bottom paint conversion. For navigation and safety, the boat features radar, sounder, VHF radio with new antenna, CO detector, high-water bilge alarm, dual bilge pumps, and upgraded alternators.
The cabin and cockpit have received a full refresh: all-new upholstery and carpet, woodgrain dash, switch covers, updated cup holders, and a new aft cabin window. Comfort upgrades include a high-density foam aft mattress, hydronic and shore power heating systems, hot water tank, and a convection oven. The entertainment system boasts a high-end stereo with multiple speakers and a 5-channel amplifier. Power is delivered by twin 6V deep-cycle batteries in series, ensuring strong and stable output while underway or at anchor.
This Sundancer is turnkey and offers unmatched value in its class. She’s ready to cruise in style and confidence. This turnkey cruiser is ready for your next adventure—just add water.
