FORWARD CABIN: Fitted with a large V-berth (an infill to form a double could be created if desired), hatch to foredeck and excellent storage in various drawers, shelves and hanging lockers.
HEADS: Located to starboard with a Jabsco marine toilet (new 2024) with Seasmart anti-odour system, wash basin, shower area and excellent stowage. Served by a holding tank with macerator for overboard discharge or deck pump out facility.
SALOON: Steps lead up to the light and comfortable wheelhouse saloon which consists of a helm position and L-shaped settee (suitable for use as an occasional single berth but could easily be adapted to improve berth size) to starboard with an adjustable folding leaf table, the settee berth to port also pulls out to form a small double berth. Easily accessed storage is provided in lockers beneath the settees, drawers and a drinks cabinet.
EXTERIOR: The Grand Banks 32 offers excellent external space thanks to a large aft deck with hinged cockpit table and removable deck chairs, together with a surprisingly large and comfortable flybridge (new seating 2010), offering ample seating and external entertainment space. Wide, safe decks, deep gunnels, all-round rails with gates, and a large aft lazarette make this a very practical motor yacht ideal for comfortable long-term cruising.
Mechanical Equipment
Located beneath the wheelhouse sole in an insulated engine room with LED lighting and extractors, twin Ford Sabre Lehman 4-cylinder 90hp diesel engines, naturally aspirated for simplicity and durability. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers (new 2021). Raw water strainers, Racor 500 MAM fuel filters (new 2017) and drip trays for each engine. Morse chrome dual twin lever controls (dedicated throttle and gear levers) at each helm with electric start. Shaft drive (new 1.5"shafts & cutlass bearings 2021) with 3-bladed 24x18 bronze propellers (new 2013) via Borg Warner 2.45:1 Righthand and Lefthand gearboxes. Twin rudders with wheel steering at both helms. Fixed trim tabs. Full engine instrumentation including rev counters, oil pressure, temperature, amps and hour meters (The hour meters were replaced in 2023 at 1440hrs) at the wheelhouse helm (the original meters have been retained). At the upper helm are rev counters, oil pressure and engine temperature gauges. Solenoid controlled engine cooling seacocks for ease of use. Sleipner Sidepower bow and stern thrusters (stern new 2016) with fixed controls at both helms (new controls 2016).
The engines are clearly very well kept and have been regularly serviced. Current engine hours are showing at approx. 1580hrs running from new, equating to optimum usage of around 50hrs per season. The 900 litre fuel tank is topped up before winter and is still almost full, her owner has found that at 7kts she burns around 7 litres per hour in total. Some spares are included with the sale such as oil filters.
During the winter of 2023/24 the owner undertook a comprehensive engine strip and inspection, detailed photographs are available. The cylinder heads were removed and sent for inspection and refurbishment; the diesel injectors were also sent for refurbishment. All heat exchangers were descaled and painted.
The engines were inspected whilst stripped by a consulting engineer specialising in vehicle engines, both engines were found to be in very good condition with original honing marks still visible tending to confirm the other evidence supporting the low engine hours recorded.
The cylinder heads were returned with a slight skim to the block mating face & the combustion chambers and ports were cleaned and polished. The valves were removed cleaned and polished and along with the valve guides and valve springs were found to be in serviceable condition.
The only area of concern was the condition of the valve stem oil seals which as a serviceable part were replaced with modern equivalent parts.
Both engines were rebuilt with the newly refurbished Diesel Injectors, new gaskets and thermostats were fitted along with new antifreeze.
Each year the owner replaced Engine oil, engine oil filters, fuel filters, pump impellors & Anodes. Antifoul as required.
