Description
For sale: completely restored Powerquest 270 Laser from 1992
The boat is equipped with a completely overhauled Mercruiser 454 Mag with a Bravo 1 drive unit. No expense has been spared to get this engine to its current state.
- The block has been bored and honed.
- The rotating assembly is balanced to handle higher RPMs.
- New dome pistons.
- New (stronger) connecting rods.
- New bearings.
- New timing chain.
- New oil pump with increased volume.
- New camshaft.
- The magnum heads have been refurbished.
- New roller lifters with pushrods and rocker arms.
- New (stronger) valve springs.
- Valve covers from a HP500.
- New carburetor with spacer plate.
- New fuel pump with lines.
- Stainless steel headers.
- Open exhaust system.
After all this, the engine has been on the test bench. These modifications bring the engine to a power output of 455.5 HP at 5400 RPM, with 677 NM of torque at 4000 RPM.
The drive and transom have also been completely disassembled and reassembled. With the 23 pitch prop currently on the boat, the engine runs at 5000 RPM with a top speed of 98 km/h!! A drive shower is mounted on the drive to cool it.
The engine still needs to be broken in; after a few hours of sailing, a smaller prop can be installed to reach 5400 RPM and definitely exceed the 100 km/h mark!
Of course, not only the engine but also the engine compartment has been completely refurbished.
- This includes replacing the transom with new woodwork and re-laminating and varnishing everything.
- New weed pot with through-hull fitting.
