35ft Custom Aluminum Sportfishing/Cruiser
NEB collaborated with Hunt Design on a development of the Surfhunter design suited for coastal fishing & cruising yet capable to head offshore to the Atlantic canyons during the short but exciting season for big game fishing. While developing plans for power choices the owner voiced considerable concern regarding performance as well as a desire to avoid lobster pots.
This boat will be perfect as a unique yacht or sportfisherman. However, her commercial uses are abundant as well. Law enforcement, fisheries, patrol, harbor pilots, crew or private island transport and supply tender operators should all seriously consider this offering.

Builder's Comments
New England Boatworks understood the owner’s wishes for a simple and rugged sport fish/cruiser. Considerable emphasis was placed on acoustic insulation to overcome typical metal boat noise in the interior living spaces. Lightweight cored panels helped keep the weight down in the forward cabin and on the overhead throughout the interior. Interior cabinets, galley module and related components were built in the joiner shop then fitted and assembled in place after the metal fabricators and mechanics fitted and installed the engine, jet and major machinery.
Local sea trials on Narragansett Bay, and then eventually further offshore around coastal Rhode Island, proved the boat was more than capable. Aluminum sport fish/cruisers may not be common around New England, but this one certainly attracts plenty of attention at the dock and on the water. Since the boat was delivered to Maine, New England Boatworks has received numerous inquiries from people looking for more information about the shiny jet boat seen up and down and all around the coast of Maine.
