Description
ANATINA is an important 54-foot classic ketch built in 1970, whose history is rich in sailing and ocean crossings: Iceland, Brazil, Cape Horn, Canada, the Caribbean. Built in Teak by Solent Universal Shipyards in Southampton to a design by Artur Robb & Robert Clark, she is a boat of great quality.
Entirely refurbished in 2011, ANATINA is now in Venice.
She is Italian flagged and has an updated RINA certification until 2029.
ANATINA was commissioned in 1970 by a wealthy English yachtsman to the Solent Universal Schipyards ltd shipyard with construction number 1661.
The boat was expressly designed for long, fast ocean cruises with fine construction materials and stainless steel reinforcements at the areas of greatest stress: keel, frames, deckhouse, deck.
A ketch of the highest quality, she received the Maltese Cross 100A1 award and her construction was carried out under the supervision of Lloyds.
During her building the designer Arthur Robb died and the boat, in particular the sail plan, was completed by Robert Clark.
IOR 1st class as early as 1971, ANATINA competed in regattas in the Solent, but above all she began her offshore sailing with numerous crossings to Iceland, Greenland, Canada, United States, Caribbean, Venezuela, Brazil, until she reached the Mediterranean in Barcelona and finally Venice, where she is currently located.
During her stay in Venice in 2009/2010 she was refitted with a new electrical system, engine, generator, heater, inverter, autopilot, anchor windlass, all electronics, masting and rigging.
