1932 Hollycraft “Needle” Racing boat with Evinrude 4-60 outboard engine.
This boat was one of only two such models built by the Hollycraft Boat Company in California. The boat is a survivor having been stored indoors for more than 60 years. The boat is on a wooden trailer with wheels from a 1930’s truck. The previous owner believed the name “Rustler” may have referred to the original owner, who was John Wayne’s stunt double, although no definitive proof has been found to support this claim. The engine is a modified Evinrude F 460 engine. This boat would make a great addition to any wooden boat collection.
