At 89.4 metres in length, SKY is one of the world’s largest support yachts—a purpose-built, ice-classed vessel originally designed for offshore operations in arctic conditions. Today, she remains one of the most capable expedition support platforms afloat, combining endurance, versatility and commercial-grade systems to serve a wide range of remote or logistically complex missions.
SKY’s DP1 dynamic positioning system enables her to hold station without anchoring for up to 45 days, making her ideal for mothership support in sensitive environments. Her 21-metre D-value helideck is fully certified for helicopters up to 12.9 tonnes, with bespoke IMENCO systems for the safe storage and dispensing of 9,000L of JET A1 and 9,000L of gasoline. A retractable azipod supports agile manoeuvring and improved fuel efficiency during operations.
She holds an SPS 50 classification, permitting up to 50 specialist personnel on board—such as helicopter pilots, submersible teams or expedition scientists—in addition to her core crew. SKY also offers a dedicated medical suite, heavy-lift cranes, extensive cold room storage, and a layout optimised for utility, endurance and safety in extreme conditions.
Since 2016, SKY has benefitted from a rigorous technical programme. Her refits span navigation systems, HVAC and cold storage, galley and crew spaces, sewage treatment, cranes, and full servicing in line with class requirements—most recently completing her 2025 special survey.
A rare offering in today’s market, SKY is ideally suited to owners or operators requiring a resilient, mission-ready support vessel capable of autonomous deployment in the world’s most challenging environments.
