Description
House of Yachts Saildivision has for sale this beautiful 8mR Cruiser/Racer designed by Christian Jensen. Carmen IV boasts excellent regatta results and has won the very first Norwegain bluewater sailing competition, "Færderseilasen". In connection with the 50th anniversary of the Færderseilasen in 1997, Carmen IV was fully restored. She has also participated in several VW regattas.
"The first regatta started on Saturday, June 14, 1947. At 5:30 PM, after the workday. In a brisk south wind, they sailed from Dronningen in Oslo, rounded the Ferder lighthouse, and finished again outside Dronningen. Only two boats sailed with full sail the entire way. One of them, Carmen, still participates in this same regatta - 77 years later."
Carmen IV was built by Anker & Jensen in Vollen, one of the most prestigious shipyards in Scandinavia, with materials and craftsmanship of the highest quality.
The hull is made of mahogany on oak ribs. The mast, made of Oregon pine and standing 18.5 meters tall, can be tuned. The mast and rig setup meet the requirements to be measured under the R rule.
The current owners bought Carmen IV in 2018 and sailed her to Kragerø. They have taken good care of her since then, and many have likely enjoyed her beautiful presence in the Kragerø archipelago during the summer.
We can arrange transport of Carmen IV all over Europe/ The Mediterranean.
