Description

A rare opportunity to own a 1938 Stephens Brothers yawl, an iconic example of West Coast wooden yacht craftsmanship. This vessel has been carefully maintained and thoughtfully upgraded, preserving of her historic pedigree.

Unlike many vintage yachts, she is not just a showpiece but an actively inspected vessel for over 50 years. Carrying a valid U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection for up to 38 Passengers until March 1, 2026, her hull, rigging, and safety systems have been reviewed and monitored on a regular basis. Structurally sound, continuously maintained, and kept in operational condition, she represents a level of reliability rare in vessels of her age.

Recent Upgrades & Care

  • Fresh bottom paint and newly painted hull (March 2024)

  • New mast step for mizzen (March 2024)

  • Rigging replaced (2017)

  • Teak deck touch-ups and resealing (December 2024)

  • Deck caulking and partial teak replacement (December 2024)

  • Up-to-date insurance survey (2024) confirming seaworthiness

The current owner, regrettably ill, must sell. The most recent survey places her value at $115,000, yet she is being offered at $65,000 to encourage offers and a quick sale.

This is more than a yacht—it’s a piece of living maritime history, offered under circumstances that create a unique opportunity for the next steward.
