Description
San Gennaro – From Tugboat to Timeless Yacht
San Gennaro is a magnificent 29-metre Benetti tugboat, originally launched in 1964 and later transformed from a hardworking vessel into a distinguished private yacht.
The ambitious refit project, carried out by Lenci Marine, involved a complete renewal of the superstructures. These were expanded to create elegant living spaces — a spacious salon, a dining room, and a fully equipped galley. On the upper deck, a grand wheelhouse and the owner’s suite were added, while the lower deck was redesigned to include three guest cabins and a laundry area. The crew quarters, consisting of two twin cabins, are located aft of the engine room.
Every detail reflects timeless craftsmanship: the interiors are finished in fine teak wood, harmoniously matched with teak decking across all three levels, creating a warm and classic maritime atmosphere.
The conversion was a true labor of restoration and respect for tradition. The engine room underwent a complete overhaul, allowing the yacht to preserve its original MAN engine, delivering 1,051 horsepower at 360 rpm. The refit was carried out at the Ortona Navi shipyard on the Adriatic coast, and San Gennaro was proudly re-launched for the 2005 season, ready to sail once again — this time as a symbol of nautical elegance and history reborn.
