Description

This 2008 Beneteau 40 is comfortable and stylish below decks and features well organized topsides. This well maintained, one owner, fresh water only sailboat is ready for cruising. It won Boat of the Year in 2008 and was a standout among the mid-size cruisers.

She performs well in light air with good handling in a stiffer breeze. It's hull is straight from the drawing boards of Berret Racoupeau and features a fine entry, broad shoulders, and a fairly beamy transom under a wide cockpit and twin wheels.

Below she offers a straight-lined modern interior from Nauta, the interior designer for this Beneteau range. She has a two-cabin layout with a roomy aft cabin and V-berth queen bunks. A head with separate shower to starboard at the foot of the companionway, and a compact, functional galley to port. Several opening ports and hatches provide ample ventilation and light, and the luster of the mahogany woodwork is accented by the upholstery and panels throughout the saloon, making for airy and cheery surroundings below decks.

A rolling-furling head sail and standard in-mast furling main make setting and dousing sails a simple task. Twin wheels provide good visibility of the rig on either tack. Aft winches and control lines leading aft makes this boat able to be single-handed or sailed with a minimal crew. When the wind dies, an upgraded Yanmar 54 HP engine pushes the boat along at an 8 knot cruise speed to get you where you where you want to go...
