This Bob Oram Design 44C is a much sought after, comfortable performance cruising catamaran with daggerboards, kick-up rudders and shaft driven props. Xtra Chilli was built for her current and only owners to explore the Great Barrier Reef. Her shallow draft has allowed them to anchor and enjoy so much of the reef, offshore islands and isolated parts of the Queensland coast. Launched in June 2004 and extensively refurbished in 2018. She is a proven live aboard performance cruising catamaran. Easily sailed by a couple; the owners are in their 70s and cover the ground quickly and safely. The 2018 refit included new standing and running rigging, new copper epoxy coating on hulls, all new SS skin fittings and new Lexan windows. Also done was a repaint of decks and non-skid areas, vinyl wrapping of hulls, new navigation instruments & new deck hardware. This coupled with the amazingly low engine hours means nothing to spend here! Xtra Chilli's accommodation in the main saloon includes comfortable settees, a navigation and entertainment centre and multiple storage options. The cockpit is the base for steering and sail management and is designed for leisure. With good seating, an SS BBQ, a solid roof, clear covers and awnings for weather protection. The port side galley is spacious and functional with excellent storage capacity and refrigeration. Two queen size sleeping cabins aft has high-quality mattresses, great stowage, privacy and excellent ventilation. To starboard is an excellent shower/vanity area and separate electric toilet (with treatment unit and holding tank). Finally, she has a workbench and tool storage. Life has intervened The refit was planned for several more years sailing the Queensland coast, but a change in health means she is now up for sale. Xtra Chilli is berthed in Hervey Bay and the berth until October 2019 is included. Leave her in Hervey Bay and enjoy the cruising season and whale watching or travel anywhere in the world.
