The 1990 Catalina 42 performance sloop "Moon Shell" is available in New Bern North Carolina. She features a 3 stateroom 2 head layout with a spacious salon and galley. Moon Shell has a large comfortable cockpit with "sugar scoop" for easy boarding from dock or tender. A well designed sail-plan and deck layout make Moon Shell easy to handle, The Nelson Marek designed hull is fast and nimble. She is well suited for club racing or cruising. She features sea water cooled refrigerator, pressure hot/cold fresh water, auto-pilot, VHF radio and depth sounder. The current owner has added an inflatable tender with outboard motor. Boarding Moon Shell is made easy by the walkthrough "sugar scoop" transom which brings you directly to the helm. The large wheel allows you to steer from center or either side which provides great visibility. Running rigging is lead back to clutches and winches on the cabin top so you can manage the sails from the protection of the dodger. Going forward from the cockpit you'll find nice wide side decks and spacious foredeck with anchor locker and windlass. Her fully battened mainsail is in excellent shape and nestles neatly into the sail-cradle.
Moon Shell's companionway provides safe access below even in rough conditions. As you enter below decks there is a nav-table to Port and guest head with shower to Starboard. Forward from there is the comfortable settee with seating for 6 to Port and Galley with LP gas range, large sink and plenty of counterspace to Starboard. Aft the main cabin there are matching double guest cabins to Port and Starboard, each with double berth, hanging locker and opening port. Forward of the main cabin is the Master Cabin with Pullman berth to Port, hanging locker and chest of drawers to Starboard. The Master Head and shower are forward.
