Description

Designed by E.G. Van de Stadt & Partners, the Seacracker - along with its Dutch cousin, the Trintella IIA - was introduced in 1969/70. Sadly, after a continuous run of 176 of these safe and sea-kindly yachts had been produced, a disastrous fire at the Rochester yard of the Tyler Boat Company destroyed all the moulds (1979).

Considered the “prettiest boat on the river”, Sequester is much admired wherever she goes. Thanks to her fine lines and deep, secure cockpit, she is close-winded and dry, making her capable of fast, comfortable passages and easily sailed single-handed.

In 2014-15 she underwent an extensive refit (details below) and has been well cared for over the last quarter-century by the present owner, who reluctantly has to accept that Sequester now needs a younger skipper to take the tiller.

A 2018 hull survey is available to view. A deep-water, swinging mooring in the West Solent could also be available.

Sabb’s reputation for producing rugged, dependable engines is legendary. From 1955 to 2002, an enviable run of 24,500 units of the Model ‘G’ was achieved. Spare parts are freely available.)
