Description
The Trapper 500 is a comfortable, all-round cruiser, easily handled for family pottering yet capable of offshore cruising/racing. She has a modern exterior with nice lines, which are complemented by her spacious, traditional interior. This particular boat has had three owners from new with very light use and benefits from replacement standing rigging in 2021
Accommodation
The accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins with good headroom.
Steps leading down from cockpit with galley to starboard side comprising 2 burner Plastimo Neptune 200 gas oven with grill, stainless steel sink with cold pumped water supply and coolbox. Navigation area and quarter berth opposite to port.
Saloon with reupholstered cushions, dinette to port side and settee berth opposite, storage above, below and behind.
Heads compartment with moulded vanity unit and sink with cold pumped water supply, Jabsco sea toilet and storage cupboards. Hanging locker opposite to starboard side.
Forecabin with V berth and infill, creating a double berth, storage below. Escape hatch to foredeck.
Cabin lighting and interior grab rails.
Mechanical Systems
Located abaft the companionway. Yanmar 2GM 16hp diesel engine (1999). Electric start. Raw water cooled. Shaft drive to fixed three blade propeller. Single lever control. Approximate cruising speed 5 knots cruising speed. Approximate maximum speed 6 knots.
Alternator charging to 2 x 12 volt batteries.
12 volt switch panel.
Sails and Spars
Masthead rigged sloop. Stainless steel standing rigging (replaced by Kingston Rigging, Lowestoft in 2021) Terylene running rigging (2016). Furling headsail system. Slab reefing to mainsail. Spinnaker pole. Stainless steel tabernacle. All lines led aft to cockpit.

Hull No 305, built in 1977 by Trapper Yachts and fitted out by Arden Yachts White GRP hull with blue style stripes. Teak rubbing strake. Aluminium toe rail. White GRP superstructure with grey Treadmaster style non slip to decks. Tek-dek style flooring to cockpit and cockpit seating. Cast iron fin keel. Spade hung rudder with tiller steering. Self draining cockpit. Lifted and antifouled 2021
