The C&C 34 turned out to be a great all-around boat with fine performance under sail, comfortable and attractive interior accommodations and equally suitable as a family cruiser or club racer.
CARPE DIEM's owner has retired from sailing and has purchased a power boat. She's on land and may be easily inspected.
Sleeps five/six. V berth forward, enclosed head with vanity next aft to starboard, hanging locker opposite to port. Main cabin next aft. L-shaped settee to starboard that converts to form double berth, settee to port. Centerline table with two leaves. L-shaped galley next aft to starboard, forward-facing nav station and quarterberth opposite to port. Teak and holly cabin sole.
Galley features two burner gimbaled Origo non-pressurized alcohol stove, stainless steel sink with foot pump, ice box.
12 volt DC system with two 12 volt batteries, battery selector switch, breaker panel.
Electronics and Navigation
JRC 1000 16 mile radar with antenna on post at stern, Brooks and Gatehouse apparent wind speed and direction indicators with repeaters below at chart table, Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF radio transceiver with RAM mike, Autohelm 3000 autopilot (needs work), pedestal mounted compass.
Hull and Deck
Fin keel and spade rudder. Pedestal wheel steering. Transom-mounted swim ladder. Lifelines recently replaced. One overhead hatch, one clamshell vent over head. Starboard boarding gate.
Sails and Rigging
Double spreader masthead rig. Keel-stepped mast. Rod rigging. Baby stay. Eggers mainsail in very good condition with two sets of reefs and Dutchman furling system, Eggers 155% roller-furling genoa in good condition. Two racing genoas, one a 155% Mylar, the other a 90% Kevlar. Two full spinnakers with sheets and guys, ATN Tacker. Harken split drum roller-furling system for headsails. Barient winch inventory includes 13 winches. Harken mainsheet traveller mounted in cockpit. Boom vang. Spinnaker pole (needs attention).
Cockpit dodger and bimini, both in good condition, mainsail cover. teak cockpit table and drink holder, two anchors with chain and nylon rode, Lifesling, horseshoe life buoy, emergency tiller, two bilge pumps, two radar reflectors, teak cockpit table, man overboard pole, bosun chair, stern flag pole, six docklines, four fenders.
