Description

New to Market

Kristin is a well cared for, classic cruising yacht with many recent upgrades. She offers all the right amenities for extensive cruising as well as liveaboard accomodations. With a pedigree of such a renowned Pacific Northwest builder and a world cruising heritage behind her, there's little excuse not to dream about her next adventures.

Starting from the bow, the master stateroom has a queen-sized bed, three hanging lockers, two cubbies and four deep drawers.  The current owners store their luggage in a space below the stateroom deck.  The center stateroom has two single bunks, a deep hanging locker and several cubbies and drawers.  The head with a shower is located across the passageway from the center stateroom.

The main salon contains the lower helm, galley and seating area, all of which are on the same level.  Abundant windows offer good views and light for all salon areas, while curtains and blinds provide privacy when needed.  The galley has a three-element electric cooktop, a microwave/convection oven as well as an AC/DC refrigerator-freezer unit.  The cabinetry contains ample cabinets and drawers for storage of utensils, dishware and provisions.  Storage areas also reside below the bench seating in the salon.  An icemaker and a new smart TV are installed in the salon seating area.

Further aft, the cockpit provides an outside seating area as well as access to the flybridge and the swim platform.  The cockpit also sports a warm water, handheld shower, a washdown hose bib and a freshwater shore connection.  Doors on each side of the cockpit provide access to docks so you can go bow-in to slips to enhance privacy.  Below the cockpit, a 180 cubic foot lazarette with a 2- by 4-foot access hatch offers storage for lines, fenders, and tools, as well as easy access to the hydraulic steering gear and rudder post glands.

The flybridge include a large seating area—with storage underneath—as well as a full helm.  An Avon dinghy with its new six horsepower outboard motor and its launching crane are also located on the flybridge.

Two, separately controlled, heat pump systems provide cooling and heating for the salon as well as the staterooms.  Small, wall-mounted heaters provide heat for the master stateroom and salon when the larger systems are not needed.

Two Caterpillar, 350 horsepower diesel engines provide propulsion.  A six-gallon hot water heater provides hot water to the galley, head and the handheld shower in the cockpit.  A Side-Power SE130-250, 24 volt, bow thruster—controllable from both helms—enhances maneuverability.

Underway electrical loads are handled by a 12 kw Northern Lights diesel generator set.   Shore power connections are located amidships on both sides as well as on the transom.  At each station, one connection powers the 30 amp house load while the other powers the 30 amp air conditioning circuit.  A five-year-old, full sine wave inverter-charger can carry most of the house electrical load for eight to ten hours using a new bank of four gel batteries rated at approximately 800 amp-hours total.  The unit’s bulk charging rate is about 130 amps.  Another newly installed battery charger keeps the three starting batteries topped up while at the dock.

A suite of Furuno navigation gear was installed in 2016.  It includes three 12 inch TZ-Touch 2 multifunctional displays—two at the lower helm and one on the flybridge, a DRS6A radar transceiver, and a NAVpilot -711C autopilot along with a PG-700 heading indicator.  The upper TZ-Touch MFD drives the fish finder sonar.  Sonar and depth readings can be accessed at all three MFDs.  Engine temperature, pressure and RPM readings are available at the three MFDs as well as at analog gages on the fly bridge.  Two Garmin VHF 200—one at each helm—provide radio communications.  The lower radio also acts as a loud hailer and automatic foghorn.  A Garmin type B AIS rounds out the electronics, which are connected via a NMEA2000 network.  A redundant Autohelm depth sounder located at the lower helm is not connected to the network.  Each helm has an analog compass and remote controls for the Jabsco S233SL spotlight.

Ground tackle includes a Rocna 25 (25 kg) anchor and about 150 feet of chain—both new in 2014.  The anchor winch is a Maxwell 1200.  A smaller anchor with a rope rode is kept in the lazarette.

In addition to various filter elements, lightbulbs, impellers and belts, onboard spares include a freshwater pump, a raw water pump for the heat pumps, a macerator style holding tank pump, and an engine raw water pump.

A four-man inflatable life raft may be available, as well.
