  4. Oyster 545

    Oyster 545

    Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom
    2015
    $1,703,270

Stunning 545 sloop rigged with easy to handle in-mast furling. Six spacious berths in three cabins. Lying in Oyster UK. Viewing highly recommended.  BROKER'S COMMENTS Shelena is only the second the Oyster 545 to be placed on the brokerage market, so a rare opportunity to acquire a beautiful recent Oyster. The 545 replaced the 54 in the Oyster lineup, and whilst she uses the proven hull and deck of the earlier model, modifications to the interior and the addition of larger portlights distinguish her from her predecessors. Rob Humphreys drew an elegant and modern design, compact enough to be sailed and maintained by a couple, yet large enough to offer safe and comfortable ocean cruising when desired. Her long waterline and powerful rig combine to offer effortless performance, but traditional Oyster features like the keel stepped mast, and full length rudder skeg make the 545 strong and reliable offshore. Shelena is in her original ownership, and has had below average use, with two Atlantic crossings and Caribbean and east coast US cruising. Her rig offer perhaps the ultimate in ease of handling, with electric powered push-button furling by Selden for both the genoa and the mainsail. Below decks Shelena is stunning with maple joinery and pale blue Alcantara saloon seating and trims. Now lying ashore in Ipswich, and available for inspection at any convenient time, Shelena would repay an early viewing.

  6. Oyster 575

    Oyster 575

    Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom
    2012
    $1,910,546

PRICE JUST REDUCED! The Oyster 575 was designed by Rob Humphreys and the Oyster Design Team to replace the Oyster 56, which had been our most popular model, with 75 launched. Built on owners feedback on the 56, the 575 was designed and engineered as a direct replacement – a long range, ocean going, bluewater cruiser and liveaboard, which can handled by a couple. Overall the 575 is a little longer than the 56, with a longer waterline length, deeper keel, increased sail area, and fuel tankage. She feels like a ‘bigger’ yacht, with more headroom, and a beam that is carried further aft, enhancing offwind performance and allowing a more spacious owner’s stateroom. The biggest upgrade, though, was reserved for the cockpit, which now featured twin wheels, a centreline walkway aft, and distinct working and relaxing areas. Oyster’s fifth generation deck saloon design gives the 575 an attractive profile  At sea she is well mannered and reassuring, comfortable in all conditions, and with a turn of speed that will keep the most demanding helmsman fully engaged. The first 575 was launched in 2010, and the last one, the 44th to be built, was launched in 2019. The 575 is a proven circumnavigator and consummate ocean cruiser and has only left the Oyster line up recently to be replaced by the new Oyster 565 and 595. White Chocolate was launched in 2012, and is hull number 12a, and is still in her original ownership. Her has been specified for short-handed sailing with hydraulic push button in-mast furling to her mainsail, and hydraulic furling to her genoa. Quarter sawn teak joinery below decks give a feeling of space a luxury, where she sleeps up to seven in four cabins, the fourth cabin being a single cabin/workshop with a workbench top, and ample storage. Light use, and a careful owner make White Chocolate fully worthy of consideration, if you are looking for a 575. NOTE : some interior images are taken from a sistership yacht.
