2017 Larson ESCAPE TTT 23
Our Escape 23 was equipped with the Tapered Tube Technology (TTT) upgrade, which includes tubes that are scimitar-sharp at the nose, to slice through the waves instead of plowing like telephone poles. The logs’ angular bottoms look like mini-boat hulls, and pronounced reverse chines on the outside deliver lots of lift, so the pontoon gets on top of the water for better performance and economy. They even have 15 degrees of deadrise to further improve slicing ability. You can choose a two-tube configuration that limits your max horsepower to 175, but our test boat had a three-tube setup that was fully ponied-up with a Yamaha F300 — the lighter V-6 version rather than the detuned V-8 beast that weighs 201 pounds more.
