This Bestevaer 53 is a sistership of designer Gerard Dykstra's own private Bestevaer 53, and she is the only one with a lift keel! The combination of a straight bow with a fine entry, a long waterline and the weight of the ship concentrated amidship, ensure good performance at all points of sail and a comfortable movement in heavy seas.The yacht was mainly used for coast hopping in France and Great Britain, while occasionally makinglonger voyages to the Med. The last two years she has been in the North of the Netherlands, and one trip to the Med. The lift keel is an ideal attribute for sailing in shallow water. The 'Kite' is easily managed by a couple.
