The 52 marks a whole new era in the design of cruising catamarans, as indeed did its predecessor, the famed 500. With its diamond-shaped vertical bows, bevelled hulls, its as if levitated deckhouse and tall rig, the 52 is no ordinary catamaran, but its originality goes a great deal further than just its "outer" appearance, or even its interior layout. This Lagoon is the result of lengthy discussions between the architects at Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), the Italian Nauta Design agency and the Lagoon design department. These discussions led us to make some important and sometimes radical choices, while remaining faithful to what we believe in, in terms of elegance, comfort, safety, user friendliness and, it goes without saying, performance under sail. The 52 is now available in 2 versions: FlyBridge or SporTop. 52 : LUXURIOUS AND CONTEMPORARYNoble and luxurious materials, with soft shades for a harmonious interior continuous horizontal and fluent lines give the interior open and generous spaces continuity between exterior and interior life a slender exterior design for a boat with a strong character EXTERIOR: ELEGANCE, COMFORT AND SAFETYThe boat is accessed via open aft transoms, facilitating boarding and disembarking broad sidedecks, with recessed deck hatches the cockpit is level with the saloon, and has an outdoor lounge and sun-lounging area to starboard the fly bridge is reached either by a staircase leading from the cockpit, or by another leading from the deck on the starboard side the steering station can be adjusted to three different positions (starboard, centre or port), giving the skipper perfect visibility under sail or when manoeuvring INTERIORS: COMFORT, SPACE, LIGHT…The saloon encompasses the lounge and dining table to starboard, a large galley in U shape on port side the chart table in the middle, facing out to sea. NEW GENERATION RIGGING: PERFORMANCE AND SIMPLICITYA symbol of the new generation Lagoons, the 40 is endowed with advanced performance features: a VPLP hull structure and an increased sail area provide a better sail surface area / displacement ratio. The decision to position the mast step further aft, which stems directly from VPLP's experience in competitive sailing, provides this catamaran with multiple advantages:A self-tacking jib for simplified manoeuvres.- A large forward triangle for a wider choice of downwind sails: a guarantee of performance.- A shorter boom for ease of manoeuvring.- A main sail, with a high aspect ratio, enabling the capture of better airflow in the upper parts of the sail for optimised performance.- The re-centring of weight, thanks to aft positioning of rigging, considerably reduces pitching. INTERIOR: ELEGANCE AND LUMINOSITY- A selection of luxurious materials, by Nauta Design, enhances the new interior lines.- A wide choice of accommodation layouts to meet the needs of owners and large families: available in three or four cabins.- A new aft cabin, fitted with a « semi Island bed » berth and multiple storage space.- Large hull window glazing with integrated portholes in the cabin provide exceptional natural light and an outstanding view. With over 4800 square feet of floor and deck space, the moment you step aboard you and your guests will be elevated to a level of privilege that very few people will ever experience. There are generously proportioned outdoor areas, which include a submersible beach platform at the stern, and a large spa pool on the foredeck that can heat to 40 degrees C in 90 minutes. The upper deck provides a lofty area from which to take in the spectacular natural panorama of our cruising waters. There is room to be social and space for privacy, without compromising either one. There are four guest cabins, each with a King size bed and its own ensuite bathroom. Deep 100% wool New Zealand carpets soften footsteps and minimise sound to enhance the profound sense of peace and wellbeing that embraces you as soon as you step aboard Rua Moana. A chefs galley, indoor and outdoor dining areas, main saloon, media room and wine lounge complete the main floor with a state of the art flying bridge and large outside deck located upstairs. Environmentally conscious and energy efficient thinking is evident throughout. Rua Moana has been designed from the ground up to minimise her environmental impact. The hull design is extremely efficient enabling her to cruise at 18 - 20 knots using a fraction of the horsepower of similar volume boats. The systems on board have been chosen for energy efficiency, and Rua Moana is able to operate in two modes; quiet ship mode, which takes advantage of DC refrigeration systems, built natural ventilation, stand alone heating systems, etc; and eco-hotel mode, with quiet variable speed generators, inverter brushless DC air-con, low power strip lighting, etc providing the full superyacht services at a fraction of the noise and emissions levels.
