    1960
    $841,251

The Bermuda 40 was Hinckley’s first fiberglass boat. “and established Hinckley as the premier North American Yacht builder of exceptional quality sailing yachts”. Hinckley manufactured 203 Bermuda 40’s over forty years. The problem is this boat restoration has been performed by Hinckley Yacht Service, the 6th re-invention of Hinckley. Check Hinckleyboats on Facebook, Instagram and at Hinckleyboat.com.  The nickname for this boat is " the Hinckley Deathship". Hinckley Yacht Services was preparing the boat for offshore racing .  The quality of repair work is unacceptable. You will need to probably remove most of Hinckley Yacht Service work including engine, electrical system, head, rigging, ... Who are you ?  An independent yard looking to restore a classic yacht.  It was a beautiful boat, till Hinckley decided the best plan of restoration was no plan.  This is a project boat.  Work is done across all systems with no plan, no thought to timing or order.  There is no evidence of wood rot anywhere on the boat.  Hinckley falsely claimed the kitchen counter had wood rot in order to replace the entire kitchen needlessly.  A perfectly fine kitchens needs to put back in. You are good with electrical systems, engine systems.  Both were restored by Hinckley but not well.  Check out the facebook page. The electrical issues are quite a list. The boat has negative value.  Independent experts counted over 70 problems that Hinckley Yacht Service caused or ignored. The boat is unsafe to tie up to the dock. 22:  Critical safety items, that pose a direct risk of fire, explosion, electrocution, injury, or loss of life.31 :  Important safety issues that may compromise safe operation, the vessel may lose power, lose control or flood as a result of this problem. 17 :Not immediately serious, that may lead to substantial failures and/or repair costs in the future. How much to fix this mess ? The costs are projected repair costs from one of the best New England boatyards.  Your own costs will probably be different.
