  2. MacGregor 26x

    WYCKOFF, New Jersey, United States

For sale is my lightly used 2002 MacGregor 26x water ballast power-sailer. I am the third owner. Wanting to get my wife and two young children into boating, I purchased the vessel early in 2016 from an older gentleman who only used it as a power boat for about 3 years (never sailed it). He bought it from his older friend, the original owner, who rarely used it due to health issues. The boat was all stock when I bought it, so I spent most of my free time over the past three years upgrading it to be as safe and comfortable as possible for the family, with a custom galley, LED lighting throughout, 110V outlets, 4 HP kicker motor, power inverter, upgraded head, touchscreen chart plotter, etc.. Unfortunately, after only taking it out about 5 times, it turns out that I’m the only one that likes to sail.*sigh* My loss is your gain. If you’re in the market for one of these hybrid power / sailboats, you’re going to want to view this one, as it already has many / most of the upgrades that you were probably thinking of implementing. Since I was originally planning on keeping this boat long term, quality parts were used during the upgrade process. All stainless steel hardware / fasteners were used when possible, all new electrical connections were crimped and heat shrunk, and almost all the original cheap copper electrical wires throughout the boat have been replaced with marine grade tinned wire. The cabin and cockpit cushions are original, but they are in good shape. The boat is very clean. Both the 50HP Honda outboard and Yamaha kicker run well. The plugs were just changed on the Honda, but an oil change still needs to be done. The fuel pump assembly was also just replaced. There is no hour meter on the motor. The 2017 4HP Yamaha kicker motor was purchased new from a dealer last year as a leftover model, and has only about an hour run time on it, which was part of the break-in process. It has an integrated fuel tank, and is mated with a new heavy duty aluminum mount on the transom. The sails are in great shape (crisp with no known frays or tears). New color coded running rigging was purchased in 2017. The standing rigging is also in good condition.   The original MacGregor trailer is also in very good shape. The previous owner said that he had it painted and the bunks re-carpeted about 5 years ago. The taillights were upgraded to LED, however the starboard side lens is cracked and should be repaired / replaced. The starboard tire and rim are new (2018), and there is a good spare mounted near the winch. The bearings were also just lubed with fresh grease. Please see the "Additional Equipment" section for a list of upgrades.  There are a couple of projects that I have not yet completed, such as running the electrical line from the horn on the cabin top to the helm, installing the 100 Watt solar panel (wiring already run from solar controller to transom), and connecting the bilge pump hose to a thru-hull (included). If the boat is to be left in the water long term, then a fresh coat of bottom paint would also be a good idea. The price of the vessel is FIRM at $18,500. I kindly ask that if you’re not planning on purchasing the boat for this price, please do not inquire. Clean title in hand.

  4. MacGregor Tattoo 26

    Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The Tattoo 26 offers high speed powering without compromising sailing performance. You can have the peace and quiet of sailing or the fun of powering around at up to 20 mph. Unlike most other boats, it opens up a world of endless variety -- sailing, swimming, fishing, diving, water skiing or just having fun on the water. With sleeping room for 6, galley area and a fully-enclosed head, the Tattoo 26 offers a range of amenities and level of comfort unequaled in any other sailing boat of its size. The weather-tight cabin has full standing headroom and comfortable accommodations for family cruising. There is a full double berth at the forward end of the cabin, and a fully-enclosed head compartment on the right. The large galley slides fore and aft and locks in several positions. It has a molded-in sink and an attractive counter, with space for a stove. The dinette area has a large solid table that can be lowered to form a single berth with an optional cushion. The back of the rear dinette seat is removable to allow easy access to the rear berth. The rear berth is about the size of a queen sized bed and has full sitting headroom over a large area. Large windows make the cabin light and airy, and the foredeck hatch provides lots of ventilation. The Tattoo 26 has a pedestal mounted steering wheel. The wheel steering is standard and takes up less room than a tiller. It is more natural to steer with a wheel than with a tiller and a lot more comfortable. It makes the boat a lot easier to sail. The seats have high backs to make sure they are comfortable. The optional vinyl cockpit seat cushions add a lot to the comfort for lounging. For more information, please contact me.
